7th annual event begins at LaSalle Waterfront Park
NIAGARA FALLS, NY - Runners are invited to the 7th annual Grassroots Gardens Spring 5K/10K/15K at LaSalle Waterfront Park on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. All three of the course distances feature beautiful and scenic views of the upper Niagara River. The 15K course, from LaSalle Waterfront Park to Goat Island and Niagara Falls, is USATF-certified.
Participants can register at grassrootsgardens.itsyourrace.com. This year’s run features a new medal design for finishers and a Grassroots Gardens WNY keepsake gift for participants. Runners are invited to visit nearby LaSalle Vineyard & Community Garden after the race to plant a vegetable seedling in the garden, as a commemorative connection to the space and for visitors to enjoy throughout the 2024 growing season.
Organized by iRunWNY and LaSalle Vineyard & Community Garden, the 5K/10K/15K raises funds and awareness for Grassroots Gardens WNY, a nonprofit serving the cities of Buffalo, NY and Niagara Falls, NY. The organization stewards more than 100 community gardens and school gardens, providing material support and garden expertise to neighbors, block clubs, community organizations, and educational institutions.
